in the sample population ranged from 31% to 92% (mean 68%). Two regions of the chromosome arm showed Al values greater than the background range of 10-22% (mean 17%) of informative cases that was observed with five markers spanning 6q21 -q25.2. Firstly, seven markers gave Al values that averaged 35% in a region flanked by D6S313 (Al = 10%) at 6ql3 and D6S283 (Al = 17%) at 6qI6.3-21. The second region showed marginally increased Al at 6q25.2-q27 and included D6S193, previously shown to be close to a tumoursuppressor gene involved in ovarian carcinoma. Since Al of 6q in breast cancer was shown previously to be due predominantly to loss of heterozygosity, our results suggest the presence of at least two tumour-suppressor

Global changes in extremes of the climatic variables that have been observed in recent decades can only be accounted anthropogenic, as well as natural changes. Factors are considered, and under enhanced greenhouse gas forcing the frequency of some of these extreme events is likely to change (IPCC, 2007 Alexander et al., 2007). Folland et al. (2001) showed that in some regions both temperature a...
متن کاملTrends of Extreme Temperature Over the Lake Urmia Basin, Iran, During 1987-2014
The variability of temperature extremes has been the focus of attention during the past several decades and had a great influence on the hydrologic cycle. A long-term, high-quality daily maximum (TX) and minimum temperature (TN) of seven stations was used to determine the spatial and temporal characteristics of extreme temperature events in Lake Urmia Basin in Iran during 1987 to 2014. The RCli...
متن کاملWeather and mortality: a 10 year retrospective analysis of the Nouna Health and Demographic Surveillance System, Burkina Faso
BACKGROUND A growing body of evidence points to the emission of greenhouse gases from human activity as a key factor in climate change. This in turn affects human health and wellbeing through consequential changes in weather extremes. At present, little is known about the effects of weather on the health of sub-Saharan African populations, as well as the related anticipated effects of climate c...

Assessing the Homogeneity of Temperature and Precipitation Data in Iran with Climatic Approach Extended Abstract: Qualitative evaluation and validation of atmospheric parameters such as precipitation and temperature are the most important condition for statistical analysis in climatic and hydrological researches. In addition, the meteorological and climatological data have a crucial role i...
متن کاملAcclimatization across space and time in the effects of temperature on mortality: a time-series analysis
BACKGROUND Climate change has increased the days of unseasonal temperature. Although many studies have examined the association between temperature and mortality, few have examined the timing of exposure where whether this association varies depending on the exposure month even at the same temperature. Therefore, we investigated monthly differences in the effects of temperature on mortality in ...
